Conference, hall and meeting room hire
North Yorkshire County Council libraries have various meeting rooms available for hire by community groups and the general public.
Please contact your local library for more information about these venues or e-mail us at libraries@northyorks.gov.uk. Please note that Boroughbridge meeting room is managed by the Boroughbridge Area Community Library Association (BACLA). The current hire charges per session for all venues can be found below. More information on rates and charges- Concession rate 1 is granted to non-profit making organisations;
- Concession rate 2 is restricted to Scarborough based non-profit making organisations with less than 100 members;
- When hiring a grand piano at Scarborough, an additional charge will be made for tuning, if required;
- When hiring the Scarborough concert room, there is an hourly surcharge for booking the room outside of normal working hours.
Room booking depositsAt the discretion of the local staff, a 20 per cent deposit will be required when bookings are taken. In the event of a booking being cancelled by the organiser, this deposit is non-refundable. Surcharges for bookings outside normal working hours will be levied for all venues at £12.50 per hour.
