Services for older people

We provide social care services to older people who have problems related to illness, disability or ageing, with an emphasis on maintaining independence in their own home. We can also offer support to the carers of older people.

Home care

Home care, sometimes called domiciliary care, can help you to remain living independently and safely in your own home. There are many different types of support available, depending on your individual needs. See the home care page for more details.

Health advice for older people

We also provide health and medical advice for older people, including information about hospice care and how to manage if you are returning home following a stay in hospital.

Charges for social care services

You will have to pay for some social care services you receive but others may be free or at a reduced cost, depending on your financial circumstances.

The amount you pay for social care services is determined through a financial assessment.
