Community and day centresWe provide day services throughout North Yorkshire, offering people a range of experiences and options to assist them to pursue meaningful and valued work, social and leisure activities.
Anyone is welcome at a community or day centre. This includes people known to mental health services (doctors, nurses, occupational therapists or social workers). Places are usually allocated following an assessment of needs by social care services. In your area there may also be other day centres and luncheon clubs run by voluntary organisations or local mental health services. Details of these are available from the customer services centre. Arranging to go to a community or day centreIf you want to attend a community or day centre, you will need to contact your care co-ordinator, if you have one. Alternatively, you can contact the customer services centre to ask for this. Once you have contacted us, we will need to arrange for your need for community care services to be assessed. This is done through a needs assessment by social care services. After your assessment, you and your care co-ordinator may decide that attending a day centre may be right for you.
