What are these services?

Disabilities

We provide a range of services, including assessment, for people who have a disability, including hearing or sight problems, mobility problems or a learning disability.

We can help people with any disability to be as independent as possible; to be healthy; to take part in the everyday life of their community, including using any facilities on offer; and to be able to do paid work if they wish. We also offer support to the carers of people with a disability.

Partnership boards for disabled people

We are members of two partnership boards that support the needs of disabled people across North Yorkshire. These are the physical and sensory impairment partnership board and the learning disability partnership board.

Charges for social care services

You will have to pay for some social care services you receive but others may be free or at a reduced cost, depending on your financial circumstances.

The amount you pay for social care services is determined through a financial assessment.
