Great Fryupdale outdoor education centre

Situated approximately 10 miles from Guisborough and 12 miles from Whitby, in the heart of the North York Moors National Park, Great Fryupdale Centre has benefited from a complete rebuild during 2005. The Centre is a converted primary school providing hostel-style accommodation for up to 26 people.

There are many options available during your stay, including assistance or full catering from our local caterers and provision of teaching or activities from nearby East Barnby.

Being based in one of the most beautiful and remote locations in the North York Moors, the area provides an ideal opportunity for environmental studies with clean salmon rivers, ponds, meadows, woods and heather moors all within an easy walk of the front door. Alternatively, the Centre is an ideal base from which to do some serious hill walking and mountain biking! So come and see us, we are sure you won't be disappointed.

Please note that Great Fryupdale Centre is administered from the nearby East Barnby Centre and all enquiries should be directed by telephone to 01947 893333 or by email to east.barnby@northyorks.gov.uk.
