Library top tasks
Finding the library, parking and access
The library is in the marketplace, at the end near the phone boxes and post box. The bus station is five minutes walk from the library and is served by the number 1a, 1b and 780 buses. The train station is nearby and is served by trains on the York to Leeds line.
There is no public car parking available at the library. There is car parking for up to two hours on the marketplace, except for Wednesdays which is market day. There are several parking spaces for disabled users near the front of the library, on the marketplace. Also, the Castle Yard, Chapel Street and Fisher Street car parks are within a few minutes walk and all offer up to two hours parking.
The library has automatic doors and all public areas are accessible to wheelchairs. There is a hearing loop on the enquiry desk and a portable hearing loop that can be used in any part of the building. There is a wheelchair available for use by customers.

IT advice sessions
Free, one-to-one advice sessions are available with a volunteer IT consultant at the library. The sessions are held on Saturdays between 9.30am and 10.30am. Booking is essential. Please contact the library for details and to book a place.
