The library is located on the main A170 Scarborough to Thirsk Road, in the village of West Ayton, in between Ayton Methodist Chapel and the Forge Valley Inn. There is a bus stop nearby served by the 8 and 128 buses.
There is a car park adjacent to the library with space for six cars. There is also one space immediately outside the library. Should the car park be full, there is a large car park behind the library. This belongs to the pub but it may be used by library customers. The library has automatic doors and all areas are accessible to wheelchairs. A hearing loop is available at the counter. Baby changing facilities are also available.
You can view an interactive location map of Derwent valley bridge community library using our online mapping system.
The library re-opened as a community library on 15 May 2012 and is run entirely by volunteers. There will be new activities taking place as we develop and grow. This page will be updated on a regular basis to reflect this. Please also see the website for details.
