North Yorkshire Families Information

The North Yorkshire Families Information Service is for parents and carers with children between 0 and 19 years of age, including children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We provide a range of information for families, such as activities at your local children's centre; childcare in your area; and a directory of services to support parents, and more.

Online mapping

You can search for different types of childcare using our online mapping facility.

	Childcare Search for childcare providers in your area, and get information about early education places. You can also find guides on choosing childcare. All childcare providers work towards quality in childcare aimed to enable every young person to thrive and be as fulfilled and independent as possible.
	Children's centres Children's centres are for families across North Yorkshire. They provide activities and opportunities which help babies and children to get a good start in life so they are ready to flourish when they start school. They also aim to give parents and carers information, advice, support and opportunities.
	Special education needs & disabilities (SEND) Find out about short breaks for disabled children, early support for children 0-5 years old, search for registered childcare providers, and disability living allowance for children.
	Support for you Access our online directory of services for families in North Yorkshire and York. These include information and advice services such as health, housing and debt management. Plus leisure activities for all the family. You can also access other sources of helpful information.
	Work and money Get information on help with childcare costs and other assistance, such as funded provision for three and four year olds, tax credits, care to learn, and disability living allowance for children.
