Councillors - declaration of interestThe members' code of conduct requires all elected councillors and voting co-opted members ("members") on council committees to complete a register of certain pecuniary interests as specified in the code.
We will publish each councillor's "register of interests form" as soon as these are available following the local government elections. What information should be included in the register?The types of matters which must be registered by members are listed below. Full details are contained in the members' code of conduct. A pecuniary interest is a "disclosable pecuniary interest" if it is of a description specified in regulations, ie:-
and either it is the member's interest or an interest of the member's spouse or civil partner or a person with whom the member is living with as such and the member is aware that that other person has the interest. Members must keep their registration of interests' forms under review and notify the monitoring officer of any changes within 28 days. Sensitive information need not be included in the register of members' interests, with the agreement of the monitoring officer. Who maintains the register of members' interests?The register is maintained by the monitoring officer and is open to public inspection at County Hall during office hours.
