Whitby park and ride consultation

Residents and businesses in Whitby are being given the chance to have a say on the resort's new park and ride transport system.

Background to the scheme

Park and ride buses were introduced last year in a multi-million pound scheme designed to ease traffic congestion and boost the prosperity of Whitby.  The scheme was developed by the county council with the aid of funding from the government's .

In its first season, the scheme proved to be a resounding success, providing a highly popular transport link from the outskirts of Whitby to the town's attractions.

Park and ride information

You can find out more about the park and ride service here, which includes opening hours, fares, locations, restrictions and more.

Purpose of the survey

We want to find out how people and businesses in Whitby rate the scheme, and what improvements, if any, they would like to see.

There is no doubt that the scheme proved an enormous success in encouraging tourists to visit Whitby, however, there have been some concerns raised about the impact of some of the associated parking measures.  This survey provides an opportunity for local residents and businesses to give us their thoughts on the scheme.
