Secondary school admissionsIf you have a child of compulsory school age (between five and 16 years of age), you have a legal duty to make sure they receive full-time education that is suitable for their age, ability and aptitude.North Yorkshire has 47 secondary schools offering high quality education from 11-16 (or 11-18 in some schools) with Selective Education available at Ripon Grammar School, Skipton Girls' High School and Ermysted's Grammar School (Skipton) you can find a link to these schools below. If your child lives in and attends a North Yorkshire maintained primary school in the selective area they are entered automatically for the selection test and no application is required.
