Election result

David Skaith (Labour) was elected as the first mayor of the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority with 66,761 votes.

Turnout for the election in North Yorkshire was 29.64%. Turnout was 29.89% for the combined authority area of York and North Yorkshire.

Deadlines for voters

The deadline to register to vote in this election was midnight on Tuesday 16 April.

The deadline for voting by post or by postal proxy was 5pm on Wednesday 17 April.

The deadline for applying for a proxy vote, for people who were unable to vote in person or by post, was 5pm on Wednesday 24 April.
