- Prevention – supporting people to live longer, healthier lives, independently in their own homes by preventing, reducing and delaying the need for longer-term social care services.
- Extra Care and supported housing – expanding the scale and scope of the programme to provide opportunities for more people in different parts of the county to live more independently and to provide wraparound health and social care services to support the discharge to assess pathway.
- Strength-based approach – embedding the approach to work with people to help them draw on their strengths and assets, including what others around them, in their relationships and their communities, are, or could be, doing to support them.
- Integration – working with the NHS to develop integrated models of commissioning and service delivery in each area of North Yorkshire, to ensure that the people of North Yorkshire have a cost efficient, effective and joined up health and social care provision.
- Care Market – working with a range of organisations from the health, independent and voluntary sectors to develop a sustainable, diverse and innovative care market that meets the varied needs of the people of North Yorkshire and ensures quality and dignity for all.
- Workforce – ensuring social care teams have a full complement of staff with the right mix of skills and experience to fulfil the roles required for the new delivery model to operate effectively.

Our Care Provider - Service Managers and Registered Managers are uniquely positioned to support our adult social care provision. As key members of our Care Provider Services, you will have a passion for improving people’s lives.
It is an exciting time to joins us; we are about to embark on a transformation programme that sees us adapt the way we work to rise to the challenges of social care. You will be an instrumental part of shaping and delivering transformation, and your role will also change alongside this as we blend and integrate services to achieve effective locality-based service solutions.
As a service manager, you will lead a number of operation managers. You will be instrumental in ensuring that you will play a key role in supporting Registered Managers and Learning Disability Service Managers . Working in partnership with a wide range of colleagues, both internal and in partner organisations, to deliver outstanding care delivery in line with the Care Quality Commissions regulatory framework. You will focus on provision and operational services, as well as service development across older people, learning disability, supported living and ECH. We have a strong ethos of team working and shared responsibility, and you will establish and maintain strong relationships with social care assessors and NHS colleagues as well as people who use services and their carers. We are driven by a desire to deliver high quality outcomes for people using and living in our care services, with a strong focus on performance and effective budget management.
As a registered manager you will work across various service types in da variety of settings and services across County providing a positive example of good practice and ensuring the service and team support people to be the best they can possibly be.
You will lead, mentor and develop a dedicated team of support workers to achieve our vision, ensuring people live longer, healthier, independent lives and that your service complies with both the Care Quality Commission regulated activities as well as NYCC policies and procedures. You will have responsibility for ensuring that the direct care and support provided is safe, effective, responsive, caring, well led and compliant.
A key part of your role will involve ensuring that your service is person centred and that staff support people to meet their personal outcomes, putting our resident's rights and wishes at the forefront of their work. Developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive service improvement and sharing knowledge of best practice with other managers will also be key to your success.
