The details may have changed through the decades but Bentham remains unmistakably the same town despite the years between these photographs.

Vehicles have changed markedly, of course, between the post-war imagine of High Bentham and those parked in similar locations today.

The presence of double yellow lines on today’s image also tells its own story about the rise in traffic levels.

Telegraph poles have also given way to technological advances, but the essence of High Bentham would still be familiar today to the previous generations that walked its streets.
