Information about the refurbishment to Cawood bridge in Selby.

What the work involves

Cawood bridge will undergo a major refurbishment. It will be closed to traffic from 22 October for four weeks. Full pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained.

Background to the refurbishment

Some components of the bridge have reached the end of their working life. As a result, the mechanical equipment that runs the movement of the bridge, including the hydraulic, electrical and control systems, will undergo major refurbishment. The last major upgrade was 36 years ago.

Bus diversion

During the road closure a diversion bus timetable will be in place for the 42 and 42s bus services.  View the diversion timetable (pdf / 587 KB).
