Current emergency road and bridge closures

In the event of an emergency such as severe weather, we provide a list of road and bridge closures.

Road closures during severe weather

During severe weather, our highway officers often have to close routes quickly for safety. They are likely to be particularly busy during the current winter weather period. Their priority will be to keep main routes moving.

We will update information about main routes below where we can. We are unable to provide real time information for all roads across North Yorkshire due to the constantly changing situation.

We will post gritting updates on our facebook page, you can read our information about winter driving and you can keep an eye on our weather cameras before you make your journey during this period of severe weather.

Please note - this page does not cover closures due to road traffic accidents
