View bike routes across the county on our online map, report a problem or view advice about requesting a new lane.

We're committed to promoting cycling as an alternative to car travel for short trips or as part of longer journeys.

Cycle lanes can be: mandatory, which are marked with solid white lines, and from which other vehicles are excluded for at least part of the day, and advisory, which are marked with broken white lines and can be used by other road users if necessary.

Further information

We encourage residents who consider there is a need for a new cycle lane to discuss the request with the local parish or town council.

The local parish or town council are consulted on most requests we receive for road signs, road markings, pedestrian crossings etc, to ensure that they are in support. We are unlikely to approve any requests that are not supported by them.

Contact us to make a request for a new cycle lane. It would be helpful if you could include information on the proposed location, the reason it's needed and your contact details.

We are happy to receive notification from members of the public about any cycle lane markings that are causing concern.
