Hear what our staff have to say

We are extremely lucky to have a skilled and experienced team within the financial management service. We very much value their hard work and dedication to their roles and ensure that we are offering the relevant support and professional development to all of our team members. We are always keen to have input from colleagues and were pleased to hear that this was recognised in our recent staff survey, where 90 per cent of staff said that they had the opportunity to contribute their views.

We also asked our team why they would recommend working in the financial management service team, and here’s some of the feedback they gave us:

Working for North Yorkshire County Council comes with numerous benefits. It’s really refreshing to work for an employer that invests support and trust in your work allowing flexibility with a focus on work outcomes. Another important benefit for me is the generous pension scheme.

The Deputy Head of Financial Consultancy role provides a great opportunity to help further develop and shape what is already a very successful business, providing bespoke finance services to schools and academies. I personally find working within such a customer focused environment very rewarding, with great daily variety and challenge and working alongside a great team of people, at the same time helping schools to achieve the best outcomes for their pupils.”

I thoroughly enjoy working in the financial management service team. All of the team are really friendly and offer ongoing support when needed - there is always someone to go to for advice or guidance. We are lucky enough to work with various schools and academies, meaning we work closely with different colleagues and get a real sense of variety in our work. I thoroughly enjoy my role and one of the main reasons for this is the great team members I work with. I also get great job satisfaction from the excellent service we provide and continue to be recognised for.

If you are someone looking for a varied role, working with various schools and academies, in a dynamic and friendly environment then I would encourage you to come and join us!
