Thank you for your interest.

This is a very exciting time to join the North Yorkshire Financial Consultancy to Schools Service. We are one of only nine organisations nationally to have won a contract to deliver the Department for Education’s flagship School Resource Management Advisers contract. Through our expertise in providing financial consultancy and support services to the school sector, we are continually seeking to support our expanding customer base in achieving the most from the management of their resources.

The school sector has undergone a lot of change in recent years and whilst we continue to serve a strong existing customer base, our ambition is to become the largest provider of high-quality financial support to schools in the North of England. This ambition is served by a dedicated and well respected team who provide a strong professional reputation and a significant understanding of the sector.

Thinking about the roles available, the following words come to mind: opportunity, potential, creativity, innovation, ambition, commercial focus, quality customer service and, of course, financial excellence. If these describe who you are and what you are looking for in a role, then we would like to hear from you. We share, and are passionate about, those values and aspirations. In return, we can offer you the chance to flourish in a growing team, to work with a diverse range of customers where no two days are the same, flexible working, the opportunity to be accredited as a School Resource Management Advisor and, of course, fulfilling work that really does have a direct impact on the delivery of education within our communities.

If you are interested in what we have to offer, we would love to hear how you can add value to our team.

Kind regards,

Howard Emmett - Assistant Director - Strategic Resources (CYPS)

Hear what our staff have to say

We are extremely lucky to have a skilled and experienced team within the financial management service. We very much value their hard work and dedication to their roles and ensure that we are offering the relevant support and professional development to all of our team members. We are always keen to have input from colleagues and were pleased to hear that this was recognised in our recent staff survey, where 90 per cent of staff said that they had the opportunity to contribute their views.

We also asked our team why they would recommend working in the financial management service team, and here’s some of the feedback they gave us:

"Working for North Yorkshire County Council comes with numerous benefits. It’s really refreshing to work for an employer that invests support and trust in your work allowing flexibility with a focus on work outcomes. Another important benefit for me is the generous pension scheme.

I thoroughly enjoy working in the financial management service team. All of the team are really friendly and offer ongoing support when needed - there is always someone to go to for advice or guidance. We are lucky enough to work with various schools and academies, meaning we work closely with different colleagues and get a real sense of variety in our work. I thoroughly enjoy my role and one of the main reasons for this is the great team members I work with. I also get great job satisfaction from the excellent service we provide and continue to be recognised for."
