We are looking to appoint to the pivotal position of Head of Social Care Provider Services, who will lead and further transform directly provided Adult Social Care Services.

A fundamental part of achieving this vision is ensuring that we meet our ambition for our Health and Adult Services directorate - where every adult has a longer, healthier and independent life.
In order to meet this ambition, we must deliver on our key service priorities:
- Prevention - supporting people to live longer, healthier lives, independently in their own homes by preventing, reducing and delaying the need for longer-term social care services.
- Extra Care and supported housing - expanding the scale and scope of the programme to provide opportunities for more people in different parts of the county to live more independently and to provide wraparound health and social care services to support the discharge to assess pathway.
- Strength-based approach - embedding the approach to work with people to help them draw on their strengths and assets, including what others around them, in their relationships and their communities, are, or could be, doing to support them.
- Integration - working with the NHS to develop integrated models of commissioning and service delivery in each area of North Yorkshire, to ensure that the people of North Yorkshire have a cost efficient, effective and joined up health and social care provision.
- Care Market - working with a range of organisations from the health, independent and voluntary sectors to develop a sustainable, diverse and innovative care market that meets the varied needs of the people of North Yorkshire and ensures quality and dignity for all.
- Workforce - ensuring social care teams have a full complement of staff with the right mix of skills and experience to fulfil the roles required for the new delivery model to operate effectively.
- Technology - exploiting opportunities for the innovative use of technology to support people to maintain their independence and wellbeing.

Demand for public services is growing as people live longer and the number of people with complex and long-term conditions, such as dementia, increases. People who are 65 years old and over make up 24.7% of our population. This compares to 18.4% in the population of England as a whole.

Role: Head of Social Care Provider Services
Salary: Up to £67,815 + relocation package
CIRCA 800 STAFF, £16 MILLION BUDGET

As a key member of our Leadership Team, you will play a lead role in shaping strategic transformation, contributing to and championing the development of our provider services function.
Our provider service provides direct care and support in a variety of settings including, residential services, day centres, respite units and extra care facilities to a diverse range of adults across North Yorkshire, particularly those with complex or niche requirements.
As head of social care provider services, you will inspire and lead your team, making informed business decisions whilst driving performance and quality. Your visible and whole system leadership skills will secure the right resource, connections and influence to allow us to deliver on our key ambitions.
Your passion for and relentless focus on improving people's lives, particularly those with complex or niche requirements, will drive you, building effective strength-based, localised health and social care communities. A real champion of quality you will know what outstanding care looks like and will support and challenge the service to achieve this. This will be underpinned by high expectations and standards and a relentless performance focus, achieving strong governance and high levels of assurances across your service to ensure there are no nasty surprises.
Forming deep collaborative partnerships is the platform from which you will realise your success, working seamlessly together with our partners across the entire system, As a high profile leader, you act with integrity, leading by example and taking pride in promoting your service internally and externally. An ambassador for NYCC, you will ensure we have a presence locally within the council and with key stakeholders, regionally with key partners and nationally, making sure we have a national voice and are at the forefront of the national agenda.
We know that we have to continue to innovate if we are to adapt successfully to the challenges this service will face over the coming years, so developing a culture of continuous learning and facilitating sustainable and continuous transformation, where learning and improving is ongoing will be a priority. You and your teams will champion digital developments and modernisation.
