Find out how to get help if you are self-isolating due to Covid and how you can help others.

Help for you if you’re self-isolating

If you’re self-isolating you may need support with things like shopping, collecting a prescription or looking after pets. If you can, please contact family, friends or neighbours and let them know how they can help you.

If you don’t have anyone who can help, you can contact us and we will direct you to the right support. You can fill in a form using the link below, or you can call our customer service centre Monday to Friday from 8am to 5:30pm, on 01609 780780.

You can also find details of other local voluntary and community groups offering support through our online directory North Yorkshire Connect.

How can I help?

If you’re interested in volunteering, the place to start is by letting your family, friends and neighbours know that you are available and how you can help.

This could include collecting and delivering shopping or prescriptions, or just being there for a chat. A brief telephone conversation can make a huge difference to people who may feel lonely or isolated.

If you have more time, you could offer to volunteer for a local charity, community organisation or support group.

Volunteering in North Yorkshire is a countywide portal that advertises a whole range of volunteering opportunities looking for people to get involved.
