Inspiration for change works with parents who have had a child/ren taken permanently into care, which we know, can be a difficult time.
What is Inspiration for change
We provide 1-1 support which is about you and your needs, this is about making time for you. We hope that we can help you to make some changes so that if you decide to have more children in the future you may not have to go through care proceedings again.
You would be given your own dedicated worker who will be there to listen, help you to think about what you want for your future and support you to get there. For us to be able to focus on your needs we can only work with parents when they aren’t pregnant or expecting a baby.
We can offer some support to parents who are going through care proceedings through our group ‘Time for You’, this is open to all parents who no longer have care of their children due to proceedings. The group is a drop in, it is a safe place to have a cuppa or just listen to the chat. The group is currently online due to Covid restrictions.
Who are Inspiration for change
Inspiration for change are a team of friendly and experienced support workers. We are reliable, honest, flexible and will work at your pace, we understand you may find it hard to trust services and we can take time to get to know each other. We’re not here to judge you, we will work alongside you, looking at what your goals are together so we can support you to achieve them.
We only work with people when they feel ready, if we begin working together and you don’t feel it is the right time for you it’s ok to opt out and come back when you feel the time is right, we are a consent based service.
