New library management system: March 2025

What services were affected?

We changed to a new library management system on 20 March 2025.

This computer system manages your account details, your loan history, our book stock and access to our online resources.

Ordering stock 

As part of the library management system upgrade, we have not been able to order new stock since 31 January. There is a delay in titles published since then being available for loan. We will catch up with ordering as soon as possible after 20 March.

Reservations

Reservations placed before 15 March will transfer to our new system – you do not need to reserve them again. 

Any requested items showing as ‘in stock’ or ‘on loan’ on the system will show again in your account after 20 March.

Any requested items showing as ‘on order’ may take a few more days to show again in your account.

Automated Telephone Renewals 

We will no longer provide an Automated Telephone Renewals option for customers after 20 March. You can renew items in person at a library, online via your account or by calling or emailing your local library.
