Books are usually loaned free of charge. Other items, such as CDs and DVDs, can be borrowed for a small charge.
The summer reading challenge, organised by The Reading Agency charity, is aimed at children aged up to 11 years and is running in all North Yorkshire libraries.
The library is a great place for children whatever their age. No one is too young to join the library and it’s free to join and borrow books.
