Our aim is to openly and honestly provide the media, our partners and the public with news and information about the council, its members, services and achievements. We also provide our corporate design and branding guidelines for use in external communications.

Media and publicity protocol

In accordance with the national code of recommended practice on local authority publicity, we are prohibited from using our resources to promote a particular political view or to influence the public on a question of policy.

Media liaison and publicity will be carried out and managed via our communications unit. Contact for details and enquiries.

Corporate template design and branding guidelines

The documents below are intended to be used by designers and staff commissioning external facing literature and websites as part of our existing corporate identity guidelines. It includes our corporate logo and branding guidelines. 

Photography protocol

Our  photography protocol (pdf / 44 KB) sets out the process involved in commissioning, taking, storing and using photographs of individuals for use in:

  • publications;
  • press releases;
  • newsletters;
  • posters and leaflets; and
  • our website and intranet.
