A naming ceremony is a unique non-religious way of celebrating the birth your baby.

Every ceremony is different and you can choose readings or promises to make your ceremony personal. Grandparents and supporting adults can be included and make their own promises. Our team of registrars is happy to help you plan your ceremony.

Ceremonies can be held in any of our registration offices or approved venues, or another suitable publically accessible venue.

Book a ceremony

Please contact us at ceremonies@northyorks.gov.uk and include your preferred date and venue. You will be asked to provide your childs birth certificate before the ceremony date. You will also be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit which will be deducted from the final cost of the ceremony. You can view the costs for a naming ceremony here.
