Author shares dementia journey at Selby library

A Northern writer is performing her moving one-woman play about caring for somebody with dementia at Selby library on Thursday, 6 February.

Emma Decent

Emma Decent will perform I Don’t Know What I’m Supposed to be Doing, sharing her experience of caring for her mother with dementia.

The play will take the audience on a journey through time, exploring a mother-daughter love and life re-evaluation. It promises to be a funny, moving and inspiring tale using poetry, theatre and library books.

The title of her play is a phrase repeated by her mother, who has now died, in the early days of her dementia. Inspired by libraries, Emma’s mother was a librarian, and Emma is a library assistant.

The performance will begin at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £2.50 and include light refreshments. To book your ticket please contact Selby library.
