As part of the celebrations to mark the 950th anniversary of the founding of Selby Abbey, two authors will discuss their historical works at Selby library in May.
Simon Turney is author of more than 25 novels spanning a range of genres and eras, with a particular focus on Roman fiction. Sharon Bennett Connolly’s latest book, Silk and the Sword, features Matilda of Flanders, rumoured to have given birth to Henry I in Selby.
Both will talk about their work, inspirations and links to Selby at the library on Friday, 3 May, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Tickets cost £5 and are available from the library. There will be refreshments and an opportunity to buy books and have them signed. Booking is advised as spaces are limited.
