Two essential road maintenance projects are to begin in Norton.

On Monday, 17 August, speed cushion reconstruction will commence on Wood Street lasting for two weeks.

Drainage works will be carried out on Langton Road from Monday 24 August, lasting for two weeks.

North Yorkshire County Council highways team hope to undertake the works over 100m lengths, and will only implement a road closure when absolutely necessary.

Vehicle access will be restricted during closures but contractors will assist where possible during the working day.

There will be times when vehicle access will not be possible due to the nature of the works. Pedestrian access will be permitted at all times.

County Councillor Don Mackenzie, Executive Member for Access, said: “This essential work will have lasting benefits for those travelling and living in Norton. Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum and we ask for your cooperation to ensure two safely executed projects.”
