Library customers can pick up a free Book Bingo card from 22 September. To play, people need only to read any library book that fits the various interesting challenges on the Bingo Card until they complete a line.  The 24 challenges range from “read a book that was made into a film” to “read a book with a number in the title” and “read a book with a tree on the cover”.

After completing their challenges, readers then hand the card back in at the library and are entered into a prize draw to win a gift card of their choice. And they can pick up another card and play again.

County Councillor Greg White, Executive Member for Libraries, said: “If you haven’t read for some time but would like to get back into it, if you have trouble choosing a book from our fantastic range or you want to try something new but don’t know where to start, Book Bingo is for you. Try authors and genres that are new to you and open up your reading world.”

Book Bingo will end on 22 December. There are three prizes to be won – a first prize worth £50 and two runner-up prizes of £25 each. The winners will be drawn early in the New Year. The more people read, the higher their chances of winning.
