Work to improve a road in Northallerton will be taking place overnight this weekend.
A section of highway between the bus stop on Boroughbridge Road and just south of the junction with the Co-op convenience store in Northallerton will be resurfaced and relined. The work will be taking place between 6pm and midnight on Saturday, June 22 and from 5pm until midnight on Sunday, June 23.
On Saturday, access to the Co-op store will be available from the A684 roundabout until 10pm. The following night, access to the store will be maintained via stop and go boards until 9pm.
Other than access to the store, vehicle access will not be possible through the affected section of road.
Residents are asked to store any vehicles which are parked on the road at an alternative location and ensure vehicles are moved from the highway before 4pm on both days.
There will still be pedestrian access whilst the work is ongoing.
County Councillor Don Mackenzie, Executive Member for Highways, said: “We would like to apologise for any disruption this may cause to residents or motorists and ask for their co-operation whilst this work is ongoing.
“We will be working hard to minimise disruption and noise for adjacent properties whilst the work is ongoing.
“The result will be a much improved road surface.”
