Our highways team have this week started the work which will run until mid-October.

County Councillor Don Mackenzie, Executive Member for Access, said: “This major scheme of localised patching and resurfacing is essential to ensure the surface is structurally sound in readiness for next year’s surface dressing programme which will further prolong the life of the roads.

“We have notified local councillors and parish councils with our current programme dates for each area and our contractors will notify affected residents and businesses in advance.

“Advance warning signs will be in place a week prior to work starting. We will keep the public updated as we progress.”

Work will take place from 7.30am to 5pm daily and a temporary road closure will be in operation during this time. Operatives will be observing all Government guidelines on safe social distancing.
