Work to replace stone setts on Crescent Hill

North Yorkshire County Council intends to carry out work in Filey to replace the stone setts on the lower half of Crescent Hill.

The work is expected to take seven weeks

The work is planned to start on Monday, 30 October and is expected to take seven weeks. It will take place from 7.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays only.

There will be road closures from The Beach at its junction with Cargate Hill to Crescent Hill at its junction with The Crescent 24 hours a day for the duration of the work. On-street parking suspensions will be in operation within the road closure to allow vehicles to turn.

Access to the lower part of Crescent Hill, Crescent Hill slipway and Royal Parade from The Crescent and The Beach will not be possible because of deep excavation. Once the work has progressed past Crescent Hill slipway, limited access to the slipway and Royal Parade will be reinstated

County Councillor Don Mackenzie, Executive Member for Highways, said: “Essential access for vehicles for residents, businesses and their visitors will be permitted whenever possible.’’

County Councillor Helen Swiers, who represents Filey, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any disruption that these maintenance operations may cause and thank people in advance for their patience and understanding.’’
