Health Visiting and School Nursing Services - provided by Harrogate District Foundation Trust

All service provision has been continually reviewed during the Covid-19 pandemic and alternative methods for contacting families outside of home visiting or community delivery are in place where necessary. Please refer to the website for team contacts should you have a query relating to an individual child. 

Whilst they will aim to continue to visit you at home they may need to provide an  alternative virtual method of contact, which could include: Telephone, FaceTime and Social Media Platforms. (pdf / 426 KB)

Young Peoples Service - Compass REACH

In light of the current situation, Compass REACH will be offering virtual appointments to service users in the first instance, however, face-to-face appointments may still go ahead under certain exceptional circumstances and subject to being able to identify a suitably safe venue which can support social distancing.

North Yorkshire Sexual Health Services YorSexualHealth (YSH)

YSH have been gradually re-introducing face-to-face services in as safe a manner as possible. Walk-in appointments are currently not available – all appointments must be booked via the central booking team.

ALL patients, visitors and staff are required to wear a mask or face covering in all NHS buildings. If you do not have your own face covering YSH can provide a mask when attending pre-arranged appointments.

Horizons – Drug and Alcohol Service

Horizons is still providing a service, and prioritising delivery of the Single Point of Contact, Needle Exchange and provision of Naloxone, and pharmacological treatment. Psychosocial support is being delivered via telephone and/ or digital means. The service offer will continue to evolve as government guidance changes. Horizons is working with partners across the system to meet needs as safely as possible.

North Yorkshire Adult Weight Management Service (tier 2)

The Adult Weight Management Service is currently being provided via a ‘remote service offer’ (e.g. telephone, Skype). 

The service offers health assessments, nutritional information and advice, behaviour change support, and home-based physical activity support. The social contact offered through the remote service offer will be particularly important in supporting emotional wellbeing of clients.

All existing clients and new clients will receive a triage assessment and options of services offered will be discussed individually with each client.

NHS Health Check Programme

Following national guidance, delivery of NHS Health Check programme is now able to resume across North Yorkshire. The physical clinical test aspect of the service will remain as face to face, however alternative delivery methods for follow up may be more appropriate to take into account staff / patient safety, time and resource.

Warm and well single point of contact

The Warm and Well single point of contact (SPOC) provides support via the telephone and internet to help North Yorkshire residents who are living in or at risk of a cold home, fuel poverty or struggling to afford their energy bills. Referrals can be made either by professionals or by individual householders. This service is continuing to operate and provide support to households.

Healthy Choices Service(weight management service for children and young people)

The Healthy Choices (child weight management) service for North Yorkshire has now ceased operation and is no longer taking referrals.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused. 

Our Public Health Team is currently exploring alternative ways of supporting children, young people and families with healthy weight and healthy lifestyles, but in the meantime please access the following sources of advice and support:

Living Well Smokefree

The North Yorkshire Stop Smoking Service, Living Well Smokefree is still operational, providing a 12-week package of telephone support with a specialist advisor and facilitating access to stop smoking medications through local pharmacy and GP provision.

The service is taking new referrals as normal and an assessment will be completed to ensure that the right support can be offered at this time or your interest will be recorded and contact will be made when the service is fully operational again. Please contact Living Well Smokefree on 01609 797272 if you need to discuss anything further.
