You can take wrapping paper, free of charge, to all household waste recycling centres.
If your wrapping paper is unused you can take it for reuse at all sites. Wrapping paper can be recycled including both brown and coloured paper, please ensure you remove tape from the paper before recycling. But:
- no glitter wrapping
- no foil based wrapping
- no plastic based wrapping
The scrunch test should help, if it springs back then it cannot be recycled (contains plastic/foil). Glitter, foil and plastic-based paper cannot be recycled and should be placed in the waste for energy recovery container.
Local charity shops, reuse organisations and reuse websites are great places to donate unwanted items.
