The Secretary of State has made the substantive decision to close Holy Family Catholic High School in Carlton near Selby in North Yorkshire from September 2025. This follows a request from the Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust which run the school.
The Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust is running a listening period on how the school closure process can be best managed. We are running an admissions preference exercise to find alternative school places for pupils currently attending the school.
Our role in this process is limited to running an admissions preference exercise to find alternative school places for pupils currently attending Holy Family Catholic High School who live in North Yorkshire. A number of pupils live in the East Riding of Yorkshire and their council will also run a separate preference exercise for pupils living in their area. Each council will contact parents and carers affected by the closure individually.
Listening period
A listening period runs from 23 September to 18 October 2024. This is an opportunity for stakeholders and interested parties to submit their views on how the school closure process can be best managed, as the substantive decision to close the school has already been made.
The Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust are running the listening period. Further information is available and comments can be made through the Holy Family Catholic High School website.
