Relax in cosy surroundings and indulge in delicious local flavours

Nestled on the outskirts of the historic town of Knaresborough, The General Tarleton is a much-loved pub with rooms, known for its warm hospitality, refined yet relaxed dining and beautifully designed interiors.

Just a short drive from Harrogate and Knaresborough, it combines the charm of a traditional coaching inn with a modern, elevated dining experience.

Executive chef Aled Williams and his team create seasonal menus inspired by British ingredients, including local game, fresh day-boat fish and produce from nearby farms, all served in an inviting setting of rich colours, soft lighting and open fires.

In the bedrooms, comfort comes first - calm colour palettes, comfortable beds, luxurious linens and those small touches that make a night away feel restorative.
