Providing support in carer's own home

Become a paid carer and provide temporary or longer term family based support in your own home. This is known as our Shared Lives service.

About Shared Lives

Our Shared Lives service connects people who need support to specially recruited and trained carers and their families. As well as receiving care and support, individuals also have an opportunity to feel part of their family.

Our Shared Lives carers, have different life experiences and backgrounds, but all share the personal skills and qualities needed to welcome and support individuals into their home. We provide in-depth training and ongoing support to carers.

The type of support provided varies depending on the individual’s needs. Some people move in with their Shared Lives carers, others are regular visitors who may combine daytime and overnight stays.

Benefits of the Shared Lives service
