Report a broken or damaged bin

Tell us about damage to your rubbish bin, recycling bin or garden waste bin if you already have a licence.

There is no charge for repairing or replacing:

  • broken or missing wheels
  • cracked or missing lids
  • bins that are split or damaged as a result of wear and tear

If you have been told by our collection crews that your bin is damaged through wear and tear or by the collection vehicle, we will automatically arrange a repair or replacement. We will leave a postcard at your property to tell you what happened and we will arrange for a bin to be delivered. You do not need to contact us to request a replacement bin.

Bins that are split or damaged as a result of wear and tear will be repaired or replaced free of charge, unless the damage has been caused deliberately. There is a £35 charge for a replacement bin due to fire, suspected arson or deliberate damage. You can pay for this online.

We aim to deliver or repair bins within 15 working days. We will take away the damaged bin when we deliver the replacement.
