Naming ceremonies

A naming ceremony is a unique non-religious way of celebrating a name and identity.

Whether you are welcoming a new child, celebrating a growing family or marking a new chapter, our registrars can help you mark the special occasion with a naming ceremony.

Every ceremony is unique and we can help you create a ceremony that truly reflects you, your family and your story. You have the opportunity to choose music, readings and promises to make your ceremony special.

Some families choose special people to play a meaningful role. Supporting adults or guide parents can be included and make their own promises.

Ceremonies can be held in any of our registration offices or approved venues or another suitable publicly accessible venue.

Book a ceremony

Please contact us and include your preferred date and venue. If you are naming a new child, you will be asked to provide your child's birth certificate before the ceremony date. You will also be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit which will be deducted from the final cost of the ceremony. You can view the costs for a naming ceremony here.

Where a naming ceremony is held immediately after a wedding ceremony, there will be a 30% discount on the fee for the naming ceremony.
