Vision for the future of Hawes

Find out about the proposed investment priorities for Hawes.

We are developing a Town Investment Plan (TIP) for Hawes as part of a regeneration programme across 32 towns in the county. The plans will help guide future funding bids by ensuring they are targeted to local priorities.

This work is supported by David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire and receives funding from the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.

Hawes is a small market town, in Upper Wensleydale, famous for its cheese and breath taking scenery. It has a range of independent retailers and hospitality businesses, as well as being the home to Wensleydale Creamery and the Dales Countryside Museum. Emerging themes so far include:

  • supporting local businesses
  • public facilities
  • parking and transport
  • youth engagement
  • marketing and tourism

Have your say

To make sure the investment plan reflects local priorities we invited residents, business owners and visitors to share their views on their local town and how you thought it could be improved.

The survey for Hawes is now closed.

Join us at a public engagement session to hear about our initial suggestions and share your thoughts.

  • Tuesday 24 March 2pm to 5pm at Market Hall in Hawes
