We are developing a Town Investment Plan (TIP) for Knaresborough as part of a regeneration programme across 32 towns in the county. The plans will help guide future funding bids by ensuring they are targeted to local priorities.
This project is supported by David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire and part-funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Knaresborough is a historic market town in North Yorkshire, renowned for its unique riverside setting, medieval castle ruins, and strong tourism appeal. Situated on the York to Leeds rail corridor, it plays an important role as both a thriving visitor destination and desirable place to live. The town’s heritage, transport links and visitor economy create opportunities to support local economic growth, strengthen tourism and enhance connectivity for residents and visitors alike.
It is anticipated that the Town Investment Plan for Knaresborough will prioritise:
- revitalising the town centre and other public spaces
- improving transport and connectivity
- creating accessible green spaces
- driving economic growth through tourism, culture and local businesses
Have your say
To make sure each investment plan reflects local priorities, we are inviting residents, business owners and visitors to share their views on their local town and how you think it could be improved.
Paper versions are available from Knaresborough Library.
