The South Scarborough Community Grant Scheme has been established following a bequest made to us from a former resident of the south Scarborough area.
The fund aims to support community groups and voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations that are delivering projects which benefit local people, strengthen communities and improve wellbeing.
During phase one, applications are invited for projects benefiting the following parishes:
- Irton
- Seamer
- East Ayton
- West Ayton
- Cayton
- Osgodby
Not for profit groups can apply for grants of up to £5,000 to help fund community projects that promote community cohesion, improve wellbeing and encourage community resilience.
Funding is available between 2026 and 2029, or until all available funding has been allocated.

Timescales
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with parish councils involved in the decision-making process. As such, you will need to provide consent for a summary of your application to be shared with our decision-making partners.
Application outcome decisions will be dependent on the date of the respective parish council meeting following receipt of your application, with decisions communicated shortly afterwards by email. Please note that this can be four to eight weeks from receipt of your application.
Organisations may submit one application in any 12-month period.
Applicants should explain how their project will be sustained once the grant funding has been spent. Projects should not rely on ongoing support from this fund in future years.
