You can volunteer to help the youth justice service with their work to support the welfare of young people.

Youth justice service staff come from a range of different fields, professions and agencies, including seconded workers from the police, probation and health. They are also supported by a highly capable and committed team of volunteers, contributing their skills to a range of roles.

Youth justice services are arranged into local delivery teams across the county and each delivery team comprises of case-holding youth justice officers and some specialist or seconded colleagues.

As a volunteer, we offer you comprehensive training programmes and quality support and supervision. You can make a real difference to the lives of young people.

We can provide volunteer roles such as:

  • appropriate adults supporting young people at the police station
  • panel members agreeing a contract with a young person
  • reparation volunteers supporting young people to repay the harm to their victims or the community

We would particularly welcome interest in volunteering for the Northallerton and Colburn areas.
