Lifeline

Find out how our Lifeline service can help you live independently in your own home with confidence and security.

North Yorkshire Lifeline is our personal alarm and telecare service. It helps people stay safe, secure and independent in their own homes by providing access to assistance at the touch of a button, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Whether you live alone, have health concerns, are at risk of falling, or simply want reassurance, Lifeline provides peace of mind for you and those who care about you.

What the Lifeline service includes

Our Lifeline service includes:

  • 24 hour emergency alarm monitoring
  • digital Lifeline equipment
  • installation and set up of equipment by our trained team
  • technical support and equipment maintenance
  • yearly wellbeing visits
  • ongoing advice and support from our Lifeline team

How Lifeline works

If you need help, simply press your Lifeline button or pendant. Your call will be answered by a trained operator who will speak with you, assess the situation and arrange the most appropriate assistance.

Depending on your circumstances, this may include:

  • contacting one of your nominated emergency contacts
  • contacting emergency services if there are concerns about your health or safety

To help us provide the best support, you should provide at least two emergency contacts.

Digital equipment

Lifeline uses modern digital equipment designed to provide reliable access to emergency support.

The equipment:

  • is simple and easy to use
  • works through a mains power supply
  • does not require a traditional landline telephone
  • can include a pendant or assistance button

A member of our team will install and test the equipment and show you how it works.

Wellbeing visit

As part of the service, customers receive a wellbeing visit once a year.

These visits help us make sure that:

  • equipment is working correctly
  • contact details remain up to date
  • support arrangements continue to meet your needs
  • you are aware of other services and support that may be available

The visit provides an opportunity to discuss any concerns and make sure you are getting the most from your Lifeline service.
