Valley Gardens, Harrogate

Outdoor sports facilities include:

• four tennis courts
• 18 hole crazy golf
• nine-hole disc golf
• table tennis
• skate park suitable for BMX, skateboards and scooters
• orienteering - supported by Claro Orienteering Club, we provide a short course at the top of Valley Gardens. Maps are available from the games pavilion

Opening times for the games pavilion

Open from 11am until 5.45pm, Monday to Friday and from 10am until 5.45pm at weekends.

Unfortunately, we may have to close the facility at short notice due to bad weather or being short-staffed.

Tennis

Spa Gardens, Ripon

Bookings for crazy golf and bowls can be made at the café. The café is open every day from 9am until 3pm.

Spa Park, Ripon

Tennis - online booking only

• three tennis courts are available in Spa Park on Church Lane, HG4 2ES, during daylight hours throughout the year
• Court 1 is also marked up for pickleball
• £8.60 per court per hour, tennis racket hire is £3.10 and hire of tennis balls is £2.60

The café in Spa Gardens has no responsibility for the tennis courts.

Knaresborough Castle grounds

Nine hole putting green and crown green bowls are available from April to September, Tuesday to Sunday, 10am until 4pm.

Tickets and equipment available from the Courthouse Museum. Just turn up and play. For further enquiries, contact us.

Conyngham Hall, Knaresborough

The Kingfisher Kiosk at Conyngham Hall, run by Community Stars CIC offers a variety of outdoor activities and refreshments for all ages.

Paddling pools

Enjoy free paddling pools this summer at:

• Valley Gardens in Harrogate, HG2 0JR
• Bebra Gardens in Knaresborough, HG5 8DF
• Borrage Green Play Area in Ripon, HG4 2JH

The paddling pools are open daily from the Saturday of the late May bank holiday weekend until the Friday of the first week back at school in September.

To maintain cleanliness and safety, the pools are emptied, cleaned and refilled during the week. This process can take up to six hours, so please keep this in mind when planning your visit. Our staff also regularly test and adjust chlorine levels and check for broken glass and litter to ensure a safe environment.

For your safety, please follow these rules:

• children must be supervised by an adult at all times
• appropriate footwear should be worn
• no running in or around the paddling pool
• no dogs are allowed in the paddling pool
• please use the bins provided for litter
• no glass is permitted in or around the pool area

Please note, these paddling pools are not supervised by lifeguards.

Park games in Scarborough

Peasholm Park has plenty to enjoy including dragon boats, rowing boats, putting green and an 18 hole pitch and a putt course.

The prices are: 

Pedaloes and rowing boats

• one person per boat - £4.40
• two to three person boat - £7.50
• four to five person boat - £12.00

Putting green - £3.30 per person
Pitch and putt - £4.30 per person

There is also Holbeck putting green which costs £3.20.
