It take place every Thursday from 7.30am until mid-afternoon, and a smaller market every Saturday from 7.30am until 2.00pm throughout the year, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Year's Day.

You can also find ladies' and gents' fashion, bags and scarves, phone accessories and watch repairs, household refillable essentials, fresh flowers, plants, and more. The smaller Saturday market features fruit and vegetables, locally grown plants, and locally reared meat.
Ripon market is operated by North Yorkshire Council along with Knaresborough, Thirsk, Northallerton, Helmsley, Pickering, Whitby and Scarborough Market Hall & Vaults.
