Knaresborough Castle grounds

Find out about Knaresborough Castle grounds, including games and band concerts in the grounds.

Knaresborough Castle is an ancient monument that is owned by the Duchy of Lancaster and maintained by us.

The grounds are open as a public park all year round.

The castle stands on top of a high cliff and has dramatic views across to the viaduct and the River Nidd. The grassed areas are enhanced with mature trees and flowerbeds.

Band concerts

On a Sunday afternoon from the end of May to the beginning of September from 2pm until 4pm, you can enjoy listening to bands and musical groups.

It is free to listen to the bands, but they may take a collection on the day to help with their expenses, so why not come along and have a lovely afternoon in beautiful surroundings.

Band times are occasionally subject to change to accommodate other events or activities.
