How to get to the Royal Pump Room Museum
By public transport
The museum is a leisurely 10 minute walk from the railway and bus terminals through the town centre. Cross the road from the terminals and head straight through the centre towards the war memorial. Go down Montpellier Hill at the bottom of which you can see the Crown Hotel to your right, and the White Hart Hotel ahead. The museum is by the Crown Hotel, across the roundabout and opposite the Valley Gardens
By road
Brown signs on the A61 and A59 will guide you towards the museum. Three-hour parking is available in most of the nearby roads (Swan Road, Valley Drive, Cornwall Road) but you must display a time disc in your vehicle. These are available from shops and the museum and gallery. A single parking bay for visitors with disabilities is available in Swan Road, by the Mercer Art Gallery, a short walk from the museum
