February 2022: West Harrogate Parameters Plan approved
The West Harrogate Parameters Plan was approved on 22 February 2022.

June 2021: SPDs adopted
The following SPD's were adopted in June 2021
These SPD's and their supporting documents can be found by visiting the planning guidance and SPD page.
May 2020: Preparation of new supplementary planning documents (SPDs)
We have begun the preparation of the following new SPDs:
Affordable housing SPD. This will support local plan policy HS2: Affordable housing. It will replace existing guidance titled negotiating affordable housing contributions (November 2015).
Rural workers dwellings SPD. This will support local plan policy HS9: Rural workers dwellings.
Air quality SPD. This will support local plan policy NE1: Air quality.
Avoiding net loss of biodiversity SPD. This will support aspects of local plan policy NE3: Protecting the natural environment.
Open space and village hall contributions SPD. This will support aspects of local plan policies TI4: Delivery of new infrastructure and HP7: New sports, open space and recreation development. It will replace the following existing SPDs: Provision of open space in connection with new housing development SPD (revised 2015) and provision for village halls in connection with new housing development SPD (revised 2015).
